Posted by Ben:It’s been a while since I talked about any of the new products we are bringing in every single month over at SwansonVitamins.com, but a new one just came in that is definitely worth a closer look. It’s a new omega essential fatty acid supplement from New Chapter, and I am pretty excited about it. It’s called Wholemega (what a great name!), and it may be my new omega supplement of choice.

Posted by Ben:Earlier this week, I started a three-part series focusing on one topic, seasonal wellness. In Part 1, I discussed how
silver is good for immune system support. On Wednesday, for Part 2, I explored the world of Homeopathic medicine by talking about the
flu-fighting benefits of Oscillococcinum. Today, however, is a bonus. Why? Because today I’m going to cover three products that are great for seasonal wellness and immune support.

Posted by Ben:On Monday, I introduced my first-ever three-part series focusing on one topic: seasonal wellness. In Part One I discussed how people use
silver for immune system support. Today, I’d like to talk about one of the most popular homeopathic remedies for treating the symptoms of the flu. Those who use it, swear by it. Can you guess what it is?

Kids are back in school and the weather is quickly shifting towards winter temps and diminishing sunlight. What does that mean? The potential for sickness and illness is nearing its peak. What are you doing to support your immune system and maintain good health? There are numerous over-the-counter drugs that claim to be effective, but not everyone wants to go that route. So, this week I’m doing a three-part series on alternative options for protecting your health this season.
Part One: Silver, AKA Colloidal Silver.

“They don’t work,” says Dr. Timothy Scott, author of “American Fooled – The Truth About Antidepressants, Antipsychotics and How We’ve Been Deceived.” He was quite emphatic about it when I recently interviewed him for iHealthTube. Not only don’t they work, he contends, but these “mind drugs” can cause brain damage and other health repercussions which he documents in his thoroughly researched book.

Last week on our Facebook Fan Page, we posted one of iHealthtube.com's latest videos featuring Dr. Roizen (yes, THE Dr. Roizen from Oprah and author of many self-help/health books). In the video, Dr. Roizen discusses four things you can do when starting a weight loss program. One of our Facebook fans posted a follow-up question concerning the use of Coconut Oil and its benefits for health and weight loss. While I could write my own long-winded response to her question, NaturalNews.com just posted an article entitled "Three Reasons Coconut Oil Can Help You Lose Weight," which answers the question quite nicely.

He was late to our interview at the Cleveland Clinic where he is Chief Wellness Officer. “My patients held me up,” he apologized. Still seeing patients, I asked myself, as busy and famous as he is? That’s right, Dr. Michael Roizen, co-author of the “You” books with Dr. Mehmet Oz and frequent guest on radio and TV shows, continues to make time for patients. Wow! I was impressed. And though his schedule was tight that day, and he was running behind, he nonetheless hurried to the studio to film some
iHealthTube videos with us.

Thank you to all of our great readers who left comments. We had over 70 comments and replies posted over the week, far exceeding my expectations for this giveaway of Dr. Richard Lippman's book, "Stay 40 Without Diet or Exercise." All of you were interested in reading what Dr. Lippman had to say about aging. Many of you sounded intrigued and hopeful. Some sounded skeptical. But nearly everyone talked about the things they are already doing to stay healthy and fit (read the comments), which proves once again that Swanson Health Products' customers are the pro-active bunch, actively pursuing healthier lifestyles through education and hard work. Awesome job people! And the winner is...

When you roll out of bed (or get dragged/kicked/pushed out of bed), is breakfast the first thing on your mind? Is your stomach growling and your appetite overpowering? Well, it should be. For one, you haven’t fueled your body for 5-9 hours straight, so it should be hungry. And if you’re consuming a regular healthy diet, your body should be in tune with the schedule and expect fuel at relatively the same times each day. Or are you a breakfast skipper (as in "do you skip breakfast" not "are you a captain of breakfast")?

Many a Christmas ago, when I was in my mid-forties, I visited my son in Ft. Lauderdale for the Christmas holiday. His tradition on Christmas Eve was to invite all the neighbors in his little community, many of whom were retired, over for an open house. A couple in their mid seventies, Joanne and George, stopped in and Wayne introduced me to them. A little later I overheard Joanne ask from the dining room, “How old is your mother Wayne? She looks more like your older sister.”

CoQ10 has become one of the top-selling dietary supplements in recent years, due most likely to the fantastic claims that make for good advertising. Questionable headlines and unsupported claims aside, Coenzyme Q 10 is an important nutrient for your body. While there is no “ultimate, one-and-only” nutritional supplement for maintaining a healthy body, CoQ10 can make a great addition to any supplementation program for the following three reasons...

A few decades ago, it was entirely natural for a family to gather ‘round the dinner table each night for a home-cooked meal. While people like to romanticize those “simpler times,” many don’t realize just how much has changed. Family sit-down dinners are rare and the TV has all but replaced the dining room table. But more importantly, the food being served up is becoming more and more unnatural thanks to genetically modified foods.

I was most definitely the “fat kid” growing up, or at least that’s what I believed. I certainly wasn’t obese, but I was never destined for a modeling career either. So when people talk about the challenges and health concerns of being overweight, I take it personally...especially when the discussion involves youth.
