I teased about it a little last week, but it’s officially time to announce the latest Swanson Vitamins Blog giveaway! I told you last week, and on Facebook, that this week’s giveaway features five individual products that all begin with C and are all related. Only one other hint was given: I told you to think “kitchen.” A few Facebook fans had some incredibly good guesses, but no one correctly guessed all five products. So what are they and how do you win? Read on...
The first three products on the “Five C’s” list are organic spices. When thinking kitchen, you think cooking. And you can’t cook a good meal without good spices. Our line of organic spices are not only fresh and fragrant, they’re an unbeatable value considering they are 100% certified organic.
First up is an all-time favorite of mine, Organic Cumin. From homemade salsa to kickin’ up a simple black beans and rice dish, cumin can definitely add some flavor to a variety of dishes. Its smoky, aromatic flavor is found in most Mexican and Latin American dishes. Check out what ayeshasghost had to say in her review: "This spice is delicious. Spicy but not hot. Really perks up food. Swansons is excellent. Highly recomend."
Next we have Organic Cayenne Pepper, another favorite of mine. Cayenne is great when you really need a kick. I use it every time I make my famous homemade chili, which has been known to cause some sweating and redness in the face. Not only does cayenne pepper spice up your favorite cuisines, it is also know to be beneficial for overall health!
The last spice on the giveaway list is also known to provide some health benefits as well as add flavor. Cinnamon is one of those spices that can send you back in time. The smell of fresh cinnamon can’t be beat, especially on a cold winter day. Every time I catch the smell of cinnamon, I think of my mother’s homemade rømmegrøt (A.K.A. smørgrøt), a Norwegian delicacy!
Now that you’re armed with three popular organic spices, the next “C” product on the list will help you prepare healthier meals. Extra Virgin Certified Organic Coconut Oil can be used in place of butter or other cooking oils for cooking, baking, frying or even in smoothies. Naturally 100% free of carbohydrates, coconut oil is rich in lauric acid, the same kind found in mother's milk, along with capric acid and caprylic acid. These medium-chain fatty acids are metabolized quickly by the body for use as an energy source rather than being stored as fat, making coconut oil the perfect cooking oil for any low-carb diet plan. Check out the reviews of this awesome oil (with more uses than just cooking).
Finally, what’s a cooking-themed giveaway without a cookbook full of awesome recipes? If you haven’t already picked up a copy of our new Swanson Health Products Cookbook, now’s your chance. With over 200 recipes, some of which came directly from Swanson customers, you’ll be able to put your new spices and coconut oil to use right away!
Check out what one customer had to say about the cookbook:
"This book has lots of creative ideas for using more healthful, nutritious ingredients. Although I've been basically a vegetarian for years, I was impressed by all the new uses for ingredients I was using the same old boring ways. My advice to others - GET THIS BOOK! It's fun reading, too." Reviewed by: wolflady
