Last time you heard from me was last month, after the Tour de Cure. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, I hope. There have been a few big developments since then.
I found a teammate for the Adventure Race, a fellow employee, Terry
F. Terry has worked at Swanson Health Products for 11 years and
held various positions in our fulfillment center. She is currently a
member of our purchasing team, as a Purchasing Assistant.
Terry is also a very active individual. She practices Yoga twice a
week, plays volleyball & softball, and enjoys riding ATV's and
snowmobiles. She shares my love of the great outdoors, which makes her
an ideal partner! And while this is certainly huge news, something else popped up that I can't ignore...
Another new development - I’ve been blindsided by the unexpected
development of romance, which has put a dent in my time available for
training, and my focus.
Who remembers/knows what this does to a person? Essentials like
concentration, rest, rituals, routines, and favorite TV shows become
distant memories. I am not complaining, just thinking on screen about
how to make it all work together.
Training for the race was something I considered a challenge from the
beginning. It now feels like twice the challenge. How much more can I
fit into one day/week/month? I’ve already given up cleaning my house,
reading, cooking, and HEROES. There aren’t many things left in life
that I am willing to phase out.
I would love to hear suggestions and/or inspirational musings on how to
more creatively manage my time and schedule without having to sacrifice
the relationships I have with my family, job, friends, and Adventure
Racing (in no particular order, they are all important!).
I have been blessed; I just need to figure out how to create harmony and balance amongst the blessings!
That’s all I really have time for. Our offices have been blessed with
high mail counts and call volumes, and I’ve got to keep up, and help
get those orders out the door!
